Mumbai, Oct. 19 -- China's fixed-asset investment declined 7.2% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2026, reflecting persistent weakness in the property sector and infrastructure spending. Property investment fell further to 20.6% from a year earlier, while infrastructure investment contracted 4.2%. Manufacturing investment performed relatively better, with the decline narrowing to 2.1%. However, monthly investment edged up 0.07% in September, recovering from a 0.55% drop in August and offering a modest sign of improvement.
