Mumbai, Sept. 30 -- Australia's consumer price index (CPI) rose 4% on a year-on-year basis in August, climbing from the 3.5% annual inflation rate reported in July, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday.
Consumer prices rose 0.4% on a monthly basis in August. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the CPI increased 0.7% month-on-month.
Meanwhile, trimmed mean inflation was at 3.6%, unchanged from the 12 months to July 2026.
