Mumbai, Aug. 17 -- Crude oil traded near $82 a barrel on Monday, easing after last week's more than 5% surge as disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz kept supply concerns elevated. The US-Iran standoff remains unresolved, with the interim ceasefire set to expire and negotiations to reopen the key waterway deadlocked. However, covert crude movements by Middle Eastern producers through the strait are helping limit further price gains. MCX August crude futures slipped 0.3% to Rs.7,843 per barrel.
