Mumbai, Sept. 2 -- The key equity indices ended with moderate losses today, extending their decline for the third consecutive trading session, as rising crude oil prices and higher bond yields heightened concerns over a potential resurgence in inflation and raised fears of tighter monetary policy by global central banks. Escalating US-Iran tensions further dampened investor sentiment and kept risk appetite subdued. The Nifty ended below the 23,950 mark.

Selling pressure was seen in auto, media and IT stocks, while oil & gas, realty and PSU Bank shares advanced.
