Mumbai, Sept. 1 -- The company's total domestic sales rose 2% year-on-year to 13,622 units in August 2025.

Domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) increased 3% to 7,991 units, while light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales grew 1% to 5,631 units in August 2025 compared to the same month last year.

Meanwhile, the company announced its plans to invest in development and manufacturing of next-generation batteries, for both automotive and non-automotive applications, including energy storage systems. This reinforces Ashok Leyland's ambition to be a leading player in creating an electrification ecosystem in the country, in alignment with Government's vision of creating a sustainable and green economy.
