Mumbai, July 16 -- According to the latest data from the Gujarat Agriculture Directorate, the latest sowing data showed that the total acreage under summer crops stood at 39.72 lakh hectares as on 13 July 2026, down 21% compared to the same period last year. Area under total cereals stood at 3 lakh hectares, down 21.35% on year. Pulses area tanked by 47% at 0.70 lakh hectares. Oilseeds area dipped by 24% on year to 15.71 lakh hectares. Area under Groundnut - the major commodity in the oilseeds group fell 25% to 13.85 lakh hectares. In other major commodities, acreage under Cotton slipped by 9.75% to 16.75 lakh hectares.
