Nairobi, Oct. 15 -- Three traders have been charged over a Sh3.9 billion value-added-tax (VAT) fraud scheme, which involved the use of fictitious electronic invoices worth about Sh25billion over five years.

The court heard that the three traders were part of a larger group of businesses investigated by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) over alleged fraudulent tax declarations.
