Tax cheats feel heat on Ruto consolidated cargo deal
Nairobi, Oct. 28 -- The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has tightened the noose on tax cheats, enforcing mandatory issuance of digital invoices to individual importers and traders whose goods are transported as consolidated cargo.
This follows a compromise deal between President William Ruto and small traders in September that saw the minimum customs charge for containerised consolidated cargo lowered back to the old cap of Sh2 million, down from Sh3.2 million.
