One in 3 household firms earns Sh5,000 a month
Nairobi, Nov. 3 -- More than one in three household businesses in Kenya generate monthly revenue of Sh5,000 or less, highlighting the limited sales many small traders make before restocking and paying for transport, rent and other operating costs.
A fresh survey by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) shows that 34 percent of household enterprises fell into this lowest revenue bracket, making it the most common category among businesses covered by the study.
