Nairobi, Oct. 29 -- A magistrate court has ordered a motorist to pay Sh1.12 million for repair of damaged safety barriers and signage on the Nairobi Expressway following a crash that he blamed on heavy rain and flooding.

The court ruled that Lawrence Patine failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle, which veered off the road and struck the expressway infrastructure near Imaara Mall on April 9, 2025.
