Nairobi, June 16 -- Marketing can make or break a film, and in the case of Disclosure Day, I think it did more harm than good. The trailers promised something closer to Denis Villeneuve's Arrival or even a full-scale alien spectacle, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Thanks to the trailer, I went in expecting a film centred on aliens, only to discover that Spielberg's latest is not an alien movie in the traditional sense. It is a sci-fi thriller first, with aliens woven into its fabric.
