Uri National Highway to Remain Closed on Sept 20 for Hill-Cutting Work
Uri, September 18, Sept. 18 -- Authorities have ordered the temporary closure of the Uri National Highway on September 20 to facilitate hill-cutting work along the road. The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Uri, issued the closure order following a request from the Officer Commanding of 53 RCC (GREF). The highway will remain closed to vehicular traffic during the work. Commuters and transport operators have been advised to use the alternative route through Bandi, Paranpilan and Dachi. The executing agency has been directed to restore vehicular movement immediately after completion of the work, subject to necessary safety clearance and confirmation that the site is safe for commuters.
