ULFA(I) cadre surrenders in Nagaland
Kohima, May 12, May 13 -- In a significant development reflecting ongoing peace-building efforts in the Northeast, one cadre of the proscribed United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) (ULFA-I) surrendered before Assam Rifles and other security agencies in Nagaland on May 11, 2026. Officials said the surrender took place following sustained outreach, coordination, and confidence-building measures undertaken by security forces aimed at encouraging misguided youth to return to the mainstream.During the surrender process, a smartphone was recovered from the individual.
