Jammu, Aug 3, Aug. 3 -- Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was suspended from both ends on Monday evening after heavy rainfall triggered a fresh landslide and made the road slippery near the Dawal Slide close to Dawal Bridge in Udhampur district, officials said. Authorities halted the movement of vehicles as continuous rainfall rendered the affected stretch unsafe. Slush on the road and the threat of further landslides prompted officials to suspend traffic as a precaution. Road clearance operations are underway, with men and machinery deployed to remove debris and restore traffic on the highway as quickly as possible.
