Aizawl, July 7, July 8 -- In a major success against narcotics trafficking, the Assam Rifles, operating under the Spear Corps, in a joint operation with the Excise & Narcotics Department, seized 1.1 kg of methamphetamine tablets valued at approximately Rs.3.30 crore in Mizoram's Champhai district. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the joint team launched a search operation in Zote village of Champhai district, a region that shares an international border and has often been used by drug traffickers for smuggling contraband.During the operation, security personnel recovered 1.1 kg of methamphetamine tablets from an abandoned motorcycle.
