Srinagar, Feb 13, Feb. 14 -- Members of a Handicapped Association staged a protest at Press Enclave, demanding effective implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, in Jammu and Kashmir.Protesters alleged that despite repeated representations, the Act's provisions-such as reservations in jobs and education-have not been fully enforced. They highlighted ongoing hardships due to poor infrastructure, limited employment, and delayed assistance.The association urged the administration to ensure departmental compliance, frame necessary rules, and initiate structured dialogue with representatives of the disabled community. The protest concluded peacefully.
