Srinagar, Sept. 2 -- Security has been tightened around the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in Jawahar Nagar as police restricted movement on several roads ahead of the National Conference's planned protest in Srinagar on Wednesday. Police personnel have been deployed in large numbers across Jawahar Nagar, Raj Bagh, Wazir Bagh and nearby areas. Vehicles travelling towards the BJP office have been stopped at multiple points, resulting in restrictions on traffic movement in the surrounding areas. The measures were put in place ahead of the National Conference's proposed peaceful gherao of BJP offices in Srinagar and Jammu.
