Srinagar, Aug. 10 -- Three police personnel, including a senior officer, were injured after an escort vehicle met with an accident near Zirayat Sharief in Awantipora on Monday following an apparent tyre burst. The Scorpio, deployed as the escort vehicle of DYSP DAR Awantipora, reportedly lost control after one of its tyres burst, causing the vehicle to roll down. The injured have been identified as DYSP DAR Awantipora Rafiq Ahmed and his two personal security officers, SGCT Amir Ahmad and Riyaz Ahmad. All three injured personnel were initially taken to PHC Awantipora for medical treatment. They were later referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for further care. Further details regarding their condition were awaited.
