Imphal, Aug 24, Aug. 25 -- Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Manipur Police Commandos, apprehended a high-value target and active People's Liberation Army (PLA) cadre at Ushoipokpi in Thoubal district on August 22, security officials said. The operation was launched on the basis of sustained intelligence inputs and cyber-tracking that helped security agencies identify and locate the suspected insurgent, identified as SS Capt Balin alias Thiyam Boycha Singh.According to the security forces, Balin was a self-styled PLA Captain wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and carried a Rs.4 lakh bounty.
