Baramulla, July 10, July 11 -- A court in Pattan on Friday convicted a man in a cheque bounce case and sentenced him to one year of simple imprisonment besides directing him to pay Rs.5,39,600 as compensation to the complainant. The judgment was delivered by the Court of the Sub-Judge, Pattan, presided over by Anjeet Singh, in a complaint filed by Mohammad Aslam Bhat, son of Mohammad Akbar Bhat, a resident of Nihalpora, Pattan.The court convicted Mohammad Abbas Waza, son of Mohammad Sadiq Waza, a resident of Kripalpora, Singhpora, in connection with the dishonour of cheques amounting to Rs.3,80,000.According to the case record, the complaint was instituted on February 4, 2019, after the cheques issued by the accused in favour of the compl...
