NH-44 upgrade to be ready by 2027
Srinagar, June 23, June 24 -- The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has said that the long-pending upgradation of theSrinagar-Jammu highway (NH44) will be largely completed by 2027 end, significantly improving connectivity between the Union Territory's twin capitals. NHAI Regional Officer Jammu Radhay Shyam Yadav said the 300-km highway has now been reduced to 245 km due to tunnels and viaducts, of which only 15 km remains under construction, while 230 km is already complete.
