Legacy of Shah-i-Hamdan
Srinagar, May 24 -- History bears testimony to the fact that the first prominent preacher of Islam in Kashmir was Hazrat Sharfuddin Abdul Rehman Bulbul Shah (RA), who belonged to the Suhrawardiya order of Sufism. Following Bulbul Shah (RA), the sacred mission of spreading Islam in the valley was further advanced by Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA), popularly revered as Shah-i-Hamdan, along with nearly seven hundred disciples and associates who accompanied him to Kashmir.Their contribution extended far beyond religious preaching.
