Kulgam, July 16, July 16 -- Kulgam Police have arrested a man from Uttar Pradesh in connection with the fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of an 11-year-old girl in the Vessu area of Qazigund earlier this month. The vehicle allegedly involved in the accident has also been traced and seized. The accident took place on July 10 near KP Colony, Vessu, where an unidentified vehicle reportedly hit the minor before fleeing the spot. The girl was shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries. Police Station Qazigund registered FIR No. 176/2026 under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched an investigation to identify the driver and locate the vehicle.
