Kashmir tourism eyes US advisory shift
Srinagar, Aug 22, Aug. 23 -- Kashmir's tourism industry is viewing the United States' indication that it may review its travel advisory for Jammu and Kashmir with cautious optimism, hoping a possible easing of the warning will help restore international confidence and revive the Valley's foreign-tourism market. During his Srinagar visit on August 19, U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor said Washington would reassess its travel warning for Jammu and Kashmir and consider whether it should be downgraded.
