Srinagar, Aug 20, Aug. 21 -- Kashmir is facing a notable respiratory-health challenge, with an estimated 10-12 per cent of patients attending outpatient departments suffering from asthma, according to pulmonologist Dr Naveed Nazir. The reported prevalence underscores the need for greater attention to respiratory illnesses in the Valley, where seasonal changes, environmental exposure and lifestyle factors can aggravate breathing disorders.Dr Nazir has pointed to Kashmir's prolonged winters and cold weather as factors that may worsen asthma and other chronic respiratory conditions.
