Kashmir reels under scorching heat
Srinagar, June 30, July 1 -- Srinagar recorded the season's second hottest day on Tuesday as the mercury touched 35.2degC amid continuing heatwave conditions across the Kashmir Valley, the Meteorological Centre said.The temperature in Srinagar was 5.3 degrees Celsius above normal. Most parts of Kashmir also recorded unusually high temperatures.A MeT official said a shift in weather has been forecast, with rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds expected over the next few days across Jammu and Kashmir.Brief intense showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely at isolated places in Poonch, Rajouri, Budgam, Shopian, Kulgam and adjoining areas over the next one to two hours, he said.From July 1 to 5, one or two spells of light to moderate ra...
