Srinagar, July 25 -- In the run-up to the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Assam Rifles organised a patriotic awareness programme at Sajik Tampak in Chandel District, Manipur, on 23 July 2026 to commemorate the historic victory of Operation Vijay and honour the supreme sacrifices of Indian soldiers during the 1999 Kargil War. The precursor event was organised to build awareness among the younger generation about the bravery, courage and dedication displayed by the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil conflict.
