Srinagar, Dec. 17 -- The Union Government informed the Lok Sabha on Monday that Jammu and Kashmir recorded a significant rise in tourism in 2024, with total footfalls exceeding 2.30 crore, including over 65,000 foreign visitors. Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said the Union Territory saw 2,30,12,707 domestic and 65,452 foreign tourist visits, bringing the total to 2,30,78,159.The Ministry of Tourism provides financial support for infrastructure development through schemes such as Swadesh Darshan, Swadesh Darshan 2.0, PRASHAD, Challenge Based Destination Development, and Assistance to Central Agencies for Tourism Infrastructure Development, under which J&K is eligible for assistance to strengthen tourism facilities.On cult...
