J&K High Court: Government Jobs Cannot Be Given in Exchange for Donated Land
Srinagar, October 9, Oct. 9 -- The Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has ruled that government jobs cannot be promised in exchange for land donated for public projects, while clarifying that eligible casual and daily-rated workers who have completed 10 years of continuous service may be considered for regular engagement under applicable rules. A Division Bench comprising Justices Sanjeev Kumar and M.A. Chowdhary passed the ruling while deciding a petition filed by the Jammu and Kashmir Government and three others challenging an order issued by the Jammu Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal on February 3.
