Srinagar, Sept. 6 -- The classroom is no longer competing merely with textbooks, television or playground distractions. It is competing with a digital world that never sleeps-and with a growing threat of substance abuse that can quietly destroy young lives. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to teachers to help children fight drug abuse and screen addiction therefore deserves serious attention. Teachers occupy a unique position in a child's life. They see changes in behaviour, attendance, concentration, friendships and academic performance before many others do.
