Jammu, May 21, May 22 -- To ensure food safety and protect public health, the Adjudicating Officer Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA) Jammu has imposed Rs 13,78,000/- on several business establishments operating in the district for violating food safety norms. The penalties were imposed in a series of enforcement actions carried out between December- 2025 and May 2026. Fines were levied on manufacturers, distributors and retailers for violation of the standards prescribed under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, including selling or distributing substandard and misbranded food products, expired food, rotten meat and operating without valid licence etc.Additionally, the licenses of 25 Food Business Operators (FBOs) have been recomm...
