Srinagar, April 18, April 19 -- : Sudden evening rains lashed several parts of Kashmir, causing damage to fruit crops and flowering plants, raising fresh concerns among farmers and orchardists. The unseasonal rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds in some areas, hit orchards at a crucial stage of flowering and early fruit setting. Growers said apple blossoms, which are highly sensitive at this time, have been adversely affected, with many flowers falling prematurely due to the impact of rain and wind.Farmers also reported damage to other horticultural produce, including cherries, almonds, and early vegetable crops.
