Srinagar, Oct. 28 -- Encroachment by vested interest groups, allegedly including local mechanics, has partially occupied a section of the Baba Demb-Naqashpora road in Srinagar, triggering public concern over the shrinking width of what was once a double-lane stretch.Locals said the mechanics and vehicle repair units have extended their workspaces onto the main road, leaving little space for vehicular movement. "They have virtually converted a portion of the road into an open workshop.
