Srinagar, Oct. 26 -- The real test in Antalya will be whether governments demonstrate that their energy policies and investments are consistent with their climate commitments. Strong language matters, but its credibility rests on implementation, transparent reporting and measurable emissions reductions. Even with rapid emissions cuts, the climate system will continue to experience the effects of greenhouse gases already accumulated in the atmosphere. Adaptation must therefore advance alongside mitigation. Agriculture, water security, public health, coastal settlements and natural ecosystems all require stronger protection against increasingly severe impacts.
