Jiribam, Aug 22, Aug. 23 -- In a major operation against narcotics trafficking, the Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, in coordination with the Manipur Police, intercepted a boat carrying contraband at Jiribam and apprehended six individuals. The operation, based on intelligence inputs, involved a swift pursuit of the suspected boat before security personnel successfully intercepted it. A substantial quantity of narcotics was recovered during the operation.According to the security forces, the seizure included 90,000 Yaba tablets, estimated to be worth around Rs.27 crore, along with 48 grams of heroin valued at approximately Rs.28.80 lakh.The recovery represents a significant setback for narcotics trafficking networks operating in the r...
