Srinagar, Oct. 17 -- Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, apprehended a senior cadre of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA) during an intelligence-based operation in Manipur's Churachandpur district, according to a security forces statement. The operation was launched following intelligence inputs about the individual's alleged involvement in extortion, illegal fund-raising and the smuggling of arms and contraband. During the operation, security personnel recovered one weapon, ammunition, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other stores from the apprehended cadre.
