Army reaches 3,265 flood victims in Assam
Guwahati, Aug 4, Aug. 5 -- Troops of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles under Spear Corps and Eastern Command continued large-scale humanitarian relief operations in flood-hit Sonari of Charaideo district, Assam, as part of the ongoing Operation Jal Rahat. During the relief mission, security forces provided essential assistance to more than 3,265 flood-affected residents, supplying food, safe drinking water, clothing and other relief materials to families affected by the floods.Officials said the relief effort included the distribution of 386 clothing items, besides food packets, potable water and other essential supplies to support people facing hardships due to inundation.The Army said the operation is aimed at ensuring timely assistance ...
