Srinagar, Sept. 23 -- Indian Army under aegis of Chinar Corps, in coordination with the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), is set to launch a massive seven day specialized medical outreach initiative, "Operation Drishti". A Mega Cataract Surgery Camp, from 23 to 30 September 2026, extending advanced ophthalmic care to underprivileged civilians and veterans residing in the remote and challenging terrain of Tanghdhar. The initiative started with extensive screening camps conducted by 92 Base Hospital across multiple far-flung locations, including Tangdhar, Uri, Bandipora, Khanabal, Kangan, Dawar and Baramulla, through which 400 patients have been identified and shortlisted for cataract surgery.
