Jammu, Sep 2, Sept. 2 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested a Junior Assistant posted in the office of the Assistant Commissioner (General), Jammu, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. The accused has been identified as Ajay Kumar, son of late Ram Murti, a resident of Gango Chack, Gajansoo, Jammu. According to the ACB, a complaint was received alleging that the official had initially demanded Rs 20,000 for issuing a Marriage Certificate under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. The amount was later negotiated to Rs 15,000. The complainant approached the ACB after refusing to pay the bribe.
