Srinagar, Oct. 5 -- Somewhere in India tonight, a young man is checking his inbox again. Let's call him Sachin not a real person. He spent years studying for a professional qualification and has now started applying for jobs. One application, for an entry level finance job paying about Rs.4 lakh a year, took him through an online test, a technical interview, an HR round and a conversation with a manager. Each stage cost him a day of preparation, and some cost him a bus fare. That was several weeks ago. He has not been selected or rejected. He has simply heard nothing.
