Srinagar, April 3, April 4 -- An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted Jammu and Kashmir on Friday evening. The earthquake occurred at around 9:44 pm.According to initial data, the quake occurred at 16:12:58 UTC with its epicenter located at coordinates 36.52degN latitude and 71.01degE longitude, at a depth of 175 kilometres.The earthquake was also felt in Srinagar and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir.The tremor triggered panic among residents in parts of the Valley and people came out of their homes and stayed in the open for some time despite heavy rains.There were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries.The earthquake was also reported in North India parts including Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.Officials said the dee...
