Anantnag, Sep 6, Sept. 6 -- A 36-year-old man was killed after an unidentified vehicle hit him in the Kokernag area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district late Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Tariq Ahmad Kalas, son of Mohammad Shareef Kalas, a resident of Shalnard, Lisser, Kokernag. Officials said Tariq was critically injured after being struck by the vehicle near Fisheries Kokernag. He was rushed to Sub-District Hospital Kokernag, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police have registered the incident and launched efforts to identify and trace the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
