25,000 MT Kashmir Apples Moved by Rail Last Season: Government
Srinagar, Sep 6, Sept. 6 -- The Jammu and Kashmir government said around 25,000 metric tonnes of apples from Kashmir were transported by rail during the last season, marking a significant push towards improving transportation facilities for the Valley's horticulture sector. The rail-based transportation is expected to help growers access markets more efficiently and reduce dependence on road transport. Kashmir's horticulture industry remains a key contributor to the region's economy and provides livelihood opportunities to thousands of families.
