Baramulla, July 8, July 9 -- In its sustained drive against illegal mining, Baramulla Police achieved another success by seizing 02 JCB excavators engaged in the unauthorized extraction of minerals. During the enforcement action, one JCB excavator was found operating illegally and was being driven by Mehraj Din Wani, son of Abdul Hameed Wani, a resident of Tapper Payeen. Acting promptly under the provisions of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act (MMDR Act), a penalty of Rs.23,317 was realized on the spot from the violator.
