'From waste to mushroom wealth'
Srinagar, Aug 19, Aug. 20 -- In a major boost to high-value and sustainable agriculture, SKUAST-K has transferred its patented exotic mushroom production technology to the Department of Agriculture for wider adoption across Jammu & Kashmir. Developed by the University's Mushroom Research and Training Centre (MRTC), the technology covers Shiitake, King Oyster and Enoki mushrooms and their associated strains.The technology can utilise locally available horticultural biomass, particularly apple-pruning waste, turning material often burnt or discarded into a valuable commercial resource.
