New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- A white, headless humanoid robot raced down a Beijing track in just 9.39 seconds, registering a 100-metre time faster than Usain Bolt's legendary world record and offering a remarkable glimpse into the future of robotics.

Named Tiangong Ultra, the robot delivered the headline-making performance during the opening ceremony of the second World Humanoid Robot Games on August 22, 2026. According to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, it completed the distance 0.19 seconds faster than Bolt's official human record of 9.58 seconds, set in Berlin in 2009.
