New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- ABB and Rolls-Royce SMR have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore how ABB's automation and electrification technologies could support the global deployment of factory-built small modular reactors.

The agreement combines Rolls-Royce SMR's standardized nuclear power plant design with ABB's capabilities in automation, electrification, instrumentation, and communications. Together, the companies will evaluate technologies that could help scale future Small Modular Reactor projects while improving delivery certainty and access to reliable, low-carbon electricity.
