Patna, April 8 -- In a significant political development, Nitish Kumar, chief of the Janata Dal (United), is scheduled to take oath as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha on Friday.
Confirming the development, senior Bihar minister and close confidant Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said that Kumar will depart for New Delhi on Thursday ahead of the swearing-in ceremony.
After being elected to the Rajya Sabha, the Chief Minister will take oath as a member of the Upper House. He will leave for Delhi tomorrow and be sworn in the day after, Chaudhary told reporters in Patna.
