India, May 17 -- The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police on Saturday carried out simultaneous raids at four locations linked to Gopal Kumar, an Executive Engineer posted in the Rural Works Division in Jhajha, Jamui, in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

According to an official statement issued by the Bihar Police Headquarters, the EOU registered Case No. 08/26 on May 15 under the Prevention of Corruption Act after a preliminary verification revealed that the engineer had allegedly amassed assets worth a 12,00,61,000 beyond his known sources of income. The disproportion was estimated to be around 81.5 per cent.
