Dhaka, Oct. 15 -- To end uncertainty over the July National Charter signing, Chief Advisor and Consensus Commission President Muhammad Yunus has held an urgent meeting with leaders of political parties and alliances.

The session began shortly after 6:30pm at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.

Earlier, Yunus met with the commission members at noon before convening the evening emergency session.

The interim government is set to finalise preparations for signing the Charter at the South Plaza of the National Parliament on Friday.

The Consensus Commission, based on full agreement among these parties and the alliance, has finalised 84 points on 17 areas of state reform. The remaining 67 points, however, drew dissent from some parties, ...
